Fact: In the U.K. and Australia, Friday is sometimes referred to by the acronym “POETS Day,” which stands for “Piss Off Early Tomorrow’s Saturday.”
We were lazy this morning and did not get verticle until 7:30 AM. Thank goodness Colleen was here to take Scout out for his constitutional.
We talked to Diane, ensuring everyone got the latest instructions for the sailing on Sunday to scatter the ashes.
We watched more of The Crown and have reached Season One, Episode Nine.
Fall is here, so that means apple season, and we will see apple goodies made in the kitchen shortly. I asked Mary, “What do you get when you cross an apple with a Christmas tree?” I finally told her, “A Pineapple.”
We have decorated and will have exclusive photos soon, but this little guy sits on the clothes hamper on the way out to the garage; always happy!

The street looks excellent as it was repaved this week. Colleen became a legend in the hood when our neighbor could not get out of her driveway to pick up her kids. Colleen offered her our car so she would not have to call Uber; the rest is history. It’s nice to have excellent neighbors!
It was Dianne’s birthday, so we joined her and the “car guys” for dinner at Azteca in Garden Grove. The cars were cool to see, bringing back old memories.
What is frightening is that I recognize most of these vehicles and have ridden in many of them!
I recognized the restaurant because many early earlier, perhaps eight, I was there when Connor needed to get out of “jail.” He and his little friends divided to play with a Molotov Cocktail in the driveway behind a market, and they got caught by the police. We went to Azteca to await his release.
The Mexican restaurant is famous for its love of Elvis and the memorabilia contained within. You could walk around for an hour and see everything.

Robin and Colleen joined us, and Mary made a blackberry dump cake; it was delicious. The “car guys” devoured it almost instantly.
