Hump Day Returns

Fact: In a group of 23 people, there is a 50% chance that two will share the same birthday.

Progress comes measured in inches.  The bullnose caps are being put on the top of the beds so we can sit and do our gardening.  We will have the bullnose finished by mid-next week, and the walkways formed up for the big pour.  Then we get to play in the first for a couple of weeks.

We are making progress slowly but surely.

The cleaning folks are due at 8:30 AM, so Mary and I decided to start our Halloween tradition early.  We went to Roger’s Gardens in Corona Del Mar, about 20 minutes from Casa Valencia.

Our first event of the season!

Mary decided we ought to dress for the occasion.  She dug out one of my many Halloween shirts from my holiday shirt collection.

Am I being watched?

Not to be outdone, Mary got her Halloween garment and completed the ensemble with a Halloween hat!

We found the way to the spooky place.

We tried to get into the Farmhouse, but it was too crowded, so we went to the Santa Ana Elks and met up with Dr. Capps.  While there, we also requested a large table for Girls Night Out for Mary, and I are bringing three new guests from our neighborhood.

We had lunch at the Elks.

Why did the ghost go into the bar?  For the Boos.

Mary got a new Halloween hat at Roger’s, and it looks great on her; but what doesn’t?

Mary likes her new hat!

Upon returning home, we noticed more bullnose had been added to the top of the beds.  Remember, each of the center three beds is 4’x25′ or 100 square feet in size.

More progress!

We had planned to go dancing this evening, but we got a call from David and Dianne asking if we would like to join them at a local restaurant to celebrate their 49th anniversary.  Duh!  We dropped everything and got ready.  We shot out of Casa Valencia like a cannon.

Happy 49th anniversary!

We asked David, Why don’t mummies take time off?  They’re afraid to unwind.    The Italian restaurant had been at that location for over forty years.

We, of course, enjoyed everything.

We are working on number two.

We still managed to go dancing because dinner was over at 7:15 PM, and the Tustin Senior Citizens Center was only a few short blocks away.  David and Dianne joined us in dancing.

Fantastic music at the Tustin Senior Citizens Center.

What do you get when you cross a vampire and a snowman?  Frostbite.

We danced for two hours, but then my knee began to act up, and we had to head home.

We danced until 9:30 PM.

When we got home, I went VFR to bed, and Mary hit the knee with a bag of ice.  It did help, and I was able to sleep.  Tomorrow it will be better!
