We Know What Day It Is!

Estimated reading time: 4 minutes

Fact: The shortest commercial flight in the world lasts just 57 seconds. – The Loganair flight between the two Scottish islands of Westray and Papa Westray lasts just 57 seconds.  At a distance of 1.7 miles, it’s the shortest commercial flight in the world.  However, because the trip is made via one of two eight-seater planes, the exact time of the journey could take a bit longer if there are strong winds.  Loganair claims it takes less than a minute “in a favorable wind.”

We relaxed today and did not get up at the crack of dawn (except to open the door for Scout, The Wonder Dog!  Mary and I spent a few minutes in the kitchen making beans that she had soaked all night long.  I sliced and diced, and she added the secret ingredients, including the eye of newt!  The superhero who loves to have soup all the time is called souper-man.

It’s soup time!

With Mary’s assistance, I posted our pictures in the new family picture frames and placed when on the wall in the Family Way.

The pictures are hung!

We have several additional pictures to hang and will be working on those tomorrow.

In “The Family Way”

The weather was fantastic, although the winds were blowing pretty hard.  We could hear our flags waving in the breeze with the front door closed,

It was a glorious day!

At 11:00 AM, we took off to the Santa Ana Elks for Girls Night Out.  Mike and Linda were there early.  Mike had a bag in his hand, and there it was, my belt from Friday Night In Paris.   Mike paid for the napkins, rescued the belt, and gave it to me, plus a new belt that I will keep in the car in case of emergencies!

The belt returns!

Sydney joined us along with the masked cowboy!  Bob looks good in his cowboy attire.  I overheard him mutter to himself, “There are two theories to arguin’ with a woman, and neither one works.”

He did pass on to me serious cowboy advice, such as “Don’t squat with your spurs on.” and “Never ask how stupid someone is ’cause they’ll turn around and show you.”

Bob makes a sneak attack!

Mike joined us today, a pleasant surprise!

The gangs are all here.

The group was incredibly talkative today.  When it’s my turn to speak, I always tell them, ” I always take life with a grain of salt.  Plus, a slice of lemon.  And a shot of tequila.”

And on the other side!

Back home, we rested for a few minutes before going to Jan’s to visit and make a quick stop at Ralph’s and TJ’s (Trader Joe’s).  We needed supplies for Saturday evening.

We had to be hone by 2:00 PM as the mirror door people planned to arrive and install the remaining mirrored doors.

On our way to Jan’s!

We brought Jan some of her favorites; sushi, blueberry cheese, and focaccia cheese bread!

I was coming home.

Finally, we are in for the evening.  The guys from the glass store came about 7:00 PM to install the last of the mirrored doors, but alas, one was broken.  We will see them again on Saturday.
