The Day Just Zipped Along!

Fact: You typically only breathe out of one nostril at a time. – You might think that your nostrils share the workload when it comes to taking in oxygen. And while they do, it’s not quite in the way that you might expect. Instead of both taking in the same amount of air when you breathe, you actually inhale most of your oxygen through one nostril at a time. Every few hours, the active nostril will take a break and the other one will take over until they ultimately switch back again. Try it for yourself!

Up early so we could get the house clean for our cleaning people!  Duh!  Our house is clean but after a week we sometimes have to do some straightening up; things like moving kitchen machines into their usual place, hanging up clothes, etc.  By 8:15 AM, when Domilita came to visit, we were spotless! We drank our coffee while getting ready for Domi!

Love our coffee!

She does our office first so we can hide away while she does the rest of the house.  Today, Mary and I ordered close to 70 4×6 inch photos to put into frames.  Our house has two long corridors.  One corridor has pictures from our respective professions on it; they are called “Medical Mile “and “Aerospace Avenue”.

The second corridor, connecting the office to the garage is named “Family Way” and contains pictures of our friends and family.

We had an insulation specialist come and give us an estimate for doing the attic; he was a tad on the high side so we are going to get another quote.  It became time for lunch and we went to Aces and had a wonderful salad.

A wonderful local bar and grille!

We have an app on our phones that controls the jukebox so naturally, we put on some dance music and waltzed around the bar.  We even did a cha cha; the applause from the two other patrons was deafening!

CZ at Aces knows us well!

After lunch we went home for a few minutes to water Scout before going to the physical therapy activity; we are getting better and will likely sign up for exercises since a) they are close and b) they will make us do exercises that are good for us.

Mary getting signed up for next week!

So mary and I go on a rampage ordering 4×6″ photos for our “Family Way” frames. We probably ordered over 100 photos.  I ordered mine and got notification they were ready.  Marry ordered hers from her library of photos and she also was notified they were ready!

OK, we stop by CVS and mine are ready.  They cannot find hers; we are puzzled.  After leaving for home I said we ought to back and show them the confirmation.  Well, Mary says my last name is CÔTÉ.

The clerk responds, “Nope, nothing there”.  So Mary shows the guys her confirmation where it clearly says “Mary A Côté, M.D.“; he goes back to the pile of photos and says, “Here they are and by the way your last name is MD”.  The photo operator apparently did not know about M.D.; in a pharmacy?  I plan to write to Reader’s Digest!

On the road again, we went by Jan’s and brought lentil soup to her. We joined her for a glass of wine before heading home to finally sit down and rest!  Ot has been a busy day!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
