Friday Is A Work Day

I was a terrible psychic. I got fired, and I never even saw it coming.

As of this morning, I have been retired 14 Years, 3 Months, and 19 Days!

Today is “paint day”; I have three appointments with folks coming to paint Mary’s home.  9, 11, and 1 o’clock have been spoken for.  I will, between those hours, work in the garage, and perhaps the storage containers align the side of the house.

I drove Mary to work since we planned to have dinner at Patty’s Place around 6:00 PM.  Robin and Vicky are joining us.  As Mary left the car, she said, “I don’t mind coming in to work. It’s the eight-hour wait to go home that gets to me.”

While cleaning up the computer, I ran into a great picture of Amy (daughter-in-law), Robin (daughter), and myself from the 2nd of July.

I feel lucky to be surrounded by love ones!

I worked in Mary’s garage and Bob Z. came to assist, thank goodness. She had several overhead racks that needed to be taken down, and we did.  I did ask Mary, “What was the first form of digital storage?” She was not aware, so I told her, “Gloves!”

We had a lot of work to do!

They were well screwed into the ceiling.  We took turns running the ratchet wrench!

The overheads are coming down.

Mary was done with work about 4:30 PM, so I jumped in The Silver Fox and headed to Huntington Beach to pick her up.  We are going to Pattys Place tonight to have dinner with our friends.

We had a super table for six inside the patio area. There was a heater available to us should we need it but it was quite comfortable all evening. Donna and Bob were there, plus daughter Robin and neighbor Vicky. We discussed the upcoming event on the 28th in detail.

Friends having dinner!

What can I say? I’m just a handsome devil…

Great times!

Mary and Nick, the owner of Patty’s Place, go over the details of a future menu. Nickel do anything we want, so we know the food is going to be outstanding.

Mary and Nick plan the details!

I tried my skills as a selfie photographer, then, by golly, it worked.

Just us!

Vicky is doing very well, and we’re so glad that she joins us to get out of the house.

Bob & Vicky

We reduce Vicky to a drink called a chip shot. We made sure the truck made it very, very mild because otherwise, it’s a pretty powerful drink.

Vicky tries the chipshot!

We headed for home, and by the time we got there, we watched a few minutes of TV and crashed. This weekend is going to be very busy with preparing for the next move on the 15th.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
