It’s The Tooth Of January And All Is Well

A perfect day for me is one that I get to spend with you.

I sure know the feeling after this frightful year watching dear ones leave and the pandemic and not seeing our friends nor dance very much.

Well, Christmas has passed, and you know what that means!  Search and find; pack and store; that’s what we did today.    Now we are ready for Valentine’s Day, which is a mere six weeks away.

We filled all the boxes and looked around several times to make sure we got everything.  It’s 5:00 PM, and Christmas is now packed away.  The boxes are upstairs ready to go into the attic for another eleven months! Tomorrow they go into the attic, we do not have the energy today.

Now, all that’s left is my house, which we will do this week, and Robin will assist.  Mary will come over and Scout, The Wonder Dog, will also help!

We watched “Virgin River” while Mary packed things away!

Mary made a wonderful dinner with fresh lettuce from the garden. We watched TV, went into the hot tub, and watched some more TV.  The second season was finished and everything was left hanging loose.  I go onto the Internet and found there is a third season coming mid-2021 so we will be looking for it!

The woman works magic in the kitchen!! The salad was fantastic, so very fresh, and the cottage cheese was perfect!

I could have made the salad my entire meal as it had everything!  She then found some left-overs from the Rib Trader and we had onion rings and zucchini spears which were pretty good after they landed in the toaster over for 30 minutes1

Soooooooooo good!

We ate on the couch and watched TV seeing the old movie, “Romancing The Stone” from 1984.  I think TV is very educational; every time someone turns on a TV, I go in the other room and read.  It was after midnight when we crashed, Mary headed upstairs and I headed for home.

As the evening progressed, I thought a lot about this past year, and all the heartbreaks it offered after losing my wonderful wife, son, and uncle.  Mary lost her aunt New Year’s Day.  But thanks to the good Lord and my strong family, I was able to keep moving forward. I was blessed to discover a beautiful and amazing woman to share my life with. 2021 is going to be a great year!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
