Monday; A Day Off From Work!

What did the English teacher call Santa’s helpers? Subordinate Clauses.

Today Mary’s office was closed due to the COVID-19 scare, so we stayed close to home, very close; we didn’t leave the building!  Mary got her test results, and she is NEGATIVE for the virus, so we are happy.

We talked to Robin and Colleen today via the Bat Phone.  The day was beautiful, so I sent them pictures from Mary’s back yard.  Scout the Wonder Dog is in charge of the back yard and he keeps the elephants at bay otherwise they would trample the bushes and wreck the fences.

We talked about New Year’s resolutions so I plan to assist Mary in getting rid of “stuff”.  She keeps wondering why she has so much!

We have the same problem!

We were lazy today!  Mary fixed pancakes for breakfast with eggs, and we watched White Christmas from the start!  I worked on the watering system, and Mary did chores around the house.

Finally, the call came in, no COVID for Miss Mary, she got a clean bill of health.  But tomorrow she has to check in via Occupational Therapy to make sure she is allowed to go to work.  Great news.

We then watched a great movie called “Christmas In The Smokies,” a Hallmark Channel presentation.  Christmas in the Smokies is a modern-day Christmas classic set in the beautiful Smoky Mountains that tells the story of one family’s journey to save their historic berry farm against all odds during one fateful holiday season.

Mary and I love to watch the Hallmark Channel movies!

After that movie, I introduced her to “The Good Witch,” so we have all sorts of things to see after the new year.

Late in the afternoon, we went into the hot tub and had a glass of wine before watching Two And A Half Men.  By 10:00 PM, we were toast!  We called Robin and plan to go out on Christmas Eve with them, and the Zaitz and then have Christmas dinner at my house and watch “A Christmas Story” ordering Chinese Food from the restaurant where we used to go on Christmas Day.  It will not be like almost normal, but there is a new normal happening and we are leading the charge.

Tomorrow I go shopping for something special for Mary, I got the rest of the goodies at home ready to wrap!

I may have to call Dianne to get an idea!

We crashed at 10:00 PM because between the pool and the Christmas movies; we were done!
