Oh My! It’s Almost A Work Day!

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

“Christmas has me feeling extra Santa-mental.”

We watched a Christmas movie this morning called “A Christmas Princess; The Royal Baby.”   While we were watching the movie, Scout jumped up and plopped himself right between us.  I guess he wanted to get in on all the happiness going on!

It’s Christmastime in Aldovia, and a royal baby is on the way. Amber and Richard host royals from a distant kingdom to renew a sacred truce, but when the treaty vanishes, peace is jeopardized and an ancient curse threatens their family.

We decided to go to Old Ranch for Brunch.  We were the only ones there?  The COVID thing has everyone worried.  After Old Ranch, we departed for Mary’s house, where decorating for Christmas was on the agenda.

We did a Search and Rescue for all the Thanksgiving decorations and packed them away.  Then to the attic where Mary went up and passed down the many boxes of decorations.  She would not let me go up because of my knee.  I think she wanted to have me at the bottom to catch the boxes!

Mary told me she had not decorated for quite a while but now that we are together it gave her a reason to be happy and celebrate.  I think she said, “You have me my happy back!”  It made me feel rather special!

Without Mary in my life, this was going to be a bleak holiday season, especially with the COVID  activities and completely cut off from our social life. I am a lucky man having a wonderfully supportive family and a fantastic lady to share with.  I wish Colleen was closer because she would add so much!

We began decorating, but I had to ask the doctor a question.

She gives it to me straight!

Last night, Robin and Bob took us to dinner in their car, and Mary’s iPhone fell out in the back seat, so this morning we used “FindIt,” and it was with Robin.   Robin drove over to Mary’s, returning the iPhone, and joined us in enjoying a glass of wine.

We recounted what happened last night and thanked Robin and Bob for taking care of us.

We continued our visit until about 4:00 PM, at which time Robin had to go to the market, and we had an appointment with Jim at the Rib Trader.  Jim said they might have to close down due to the COVID mess, so we wanted to visit him.

Off to dinner!

We shared a Rib Trader Sampler, which was perfect, and we still brought some food home. We are beginning to be “regulars” as we see people we know all the time.

We traderd the baby-backs for beef bones!

After a nice visit with Jim, we came home to Mary’s, and she got one of my world-famous massages in front of the fireplace with Chopin playing in the background.  It was no wonder she was ready for bed at 7:00 PM.

No, I did it correctly!

I sent her off to crash as she must work tomorrow.  I headed home as I still have a mini-mess from all the decorating activities. Tomorrow I will go through the boxes and clean them up and store them away for the month.
