It Be Monday And We Are Goofing Off

This whiteboard is remarkable.

Time to unpack and do the wash from our trip.  Mary was first and she did such a good job she suggested she bring food to cook at my house and then I get to unpack and do the wash.  It was a wonderful idea.

While she was doing her thing, I posted the trip summary on the Daily Diary and puttered around the house.

When we got to my place, Mary brought in chicken and other goodies and proceeded to cook up a storm.  Well, as it turns out when she went for flour, we had beasties visiting the flour.  The beasties were in several places in the pantry, even inside vacuum containers.  I guess I have not been doing much cooking in the last several months.

If you see flour bugs, they were already there when you bought it. The female weevil lays eggs in the wheat kernel and it can sometimes survive the milling process. The eggs will hatch if they’re in warm or humid conditions, or have reached their maturity. The flour bugs eat the grain and then seek to mate.

I threw out everything including the containers so my next stop will be Bed Bath and Beyond.

I had flour in the freezer outside so I rounded by a fresh package and we were off and running.

We had baked chicken a’ la Cote and fresh veggies plus some of Robin’s apple sauce!

After dinner, we cleaned up and returned to Mary’s to watch some TV before crashing.

Scout the Wonder Dog was chaperoning us.

Today was a laid back day!  We needed that!
