Love Driving The New Car!!

To write with a broken pencil is pointless.

I was up and at ’em bright and early as I needed to be at Mary’s by 7:00 AM to walk the pooch (a.k.a. Scout)  and then take Mary to work.  She is employed by the VA in Long Beach, a short 5.1 miles from my house.  I thought it a good idea to drive her as a bad back, and having to hit the gas and brakes for 90 minutes is not good.

The Silver Fox, a.k.a Freeway Flyer

I walked this morning and had a great idea, go to Chic-F-lay and have lunch.  So, I walked the mile plus, reached into my pocket, and pulled out a paper napkin.  I thought I had a mask.  Meet Mr. Dumbass!   So, I trundled back home in a slightly different way and got a three-mile walk in before arriving home!

Three more notches in my holster of health!

Care to come to dinner??

Mary texted about 12:20 AM and said she felt about three on a scale of ten, so I got into the shower and cleaned up, getting ready for her expected early phone call.

She did finish early so I picked her up and headed to Orange.  We decided it was a Veal Piccata night so we made a stop in downtown Orange.  While getting our food, we found a fellows wallet and tried several ways to get it back to him.

Dinner was good but Mary’s back was not.  We iced it up for twenty minutes and she remained horizontal.  By 9:00 PM she was sleepy so she headed for the rack while I took Scout out for one last run around the yard.

The Silver Fox and I were headed west by 9:15 PM and by 9:45 PM I was watching something on TV,  I wanted to get some rest as I offered to assist Mary with Scout’s checkup as there was no way Mary could get Scout in and out of the car.   The appointment is at 7:30 AM about eight miles from Mary’s house.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
