I Lost An Hour Somewhere!

I was blessed because I was loved by you.

Nothing stopped Sue, she went everywhere.  We took our grandsons to Alaska in 2002 and rode the trains, flew in airplanes, landed on lakes, and saw all the sites.  She really loved those grandkids and had a special relationship with Jon and Zachary.

The boys helped Grandpa get Sue to all the sites.

First things first, reset the clocks.  I got all but two which are high on the wall so I will save that task until tomorrow.

I put the finishing touches on the garden by mulching the back two rows and finishing off one complete bale of straw.  The last of the plants are in and ready to grow in their new home.

Breakfast was a bowl of cereal loaded with berries.  I knew I was going to eat tonight at the dance so this was perfect.

I thought a lot about the kitchen and began going through every drawer and doing some re-arranging.  Sue’s arrangement was fine but I had to move the microwave so I could get to the commonly used tools, then the measuring devices took top-drawer!  MY wonderful bride never needed to measure anything, she had a talent for all those tsp’s and tbsp’s, and oz’s and things.  Me, I need the whole array of measuring devices.

I heard someone our front and it was Vicky and her son collecting oranges!  Wonderful.  Martin offered to go onto the roof and trim the trees off the shingles and I took him up on that.  After the pruning was done, I was the proud owner of 52,000,121 lemons, tangerines, and grapefruit.  We put most of them out front and announced on the neighborhood website they were ready for pickup!

At 3:30 PM I got cleaned up and headed over to Old Ranch at 4:00 PM.  Lee, my high school girlfriend, was coming by 30 minutes early so we could talk.  She came about 4:30 PM and he talked about life in general and our losses.

I forgot my iPhone so the pictures came from my big camera.  While I enjoyed the evening I was not in a mood to take many pictures.  I did dance with five ladies, something Sue would have expected and wanted.  Irene, Nancy, Lee, Ghislaine, and Sharon all shared the dance floor with me.

For dinner, I ordered Sue’s favorite, the gourmet grilled cheese and they did it right! Crispy on both sides and quite good!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
