And Then The Poo Hit The Shan!

“What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.” — Ralph Waldo Emerson

6:00 AM and I heard a strange noise and as I looked over at Sue, she was having mild “convulsions”.  OMG, another seizure.  I bounced to the phone and placed a call to 911; they were here in about six minutes.  Meanwhile, I readied the front door, set the blinking flashlight on the front walkway, and printed out the medical history and current medications list; been here done that!

The paramedics did a wonderful job!  I showed them the picture of her back so they would be careful during transport.

Surrounded by men; that’s my Sue

I always carry a picture of her back to show the medical folks why she cannot be laying flat. It is a medical miracle.

28 2″ long screws into her backbone and attached to two titanium rods

She rode and I stayed behind to straighten up, started some wash, and got her clothes ready should she come home later today!

What, no limo??

Miss Robin was going to join us for lunch today but no lunch today!  She stopped by to visit and see if there was anything she could do.

Robin came to visit at lunch!

In the afternoon, after school was out, Irene popped by and visited.  She was teaching at Los Al High today.  I came and went all afternoon as there were things that needed getting done at home.  Finally, I headed home at 7:30 PM for the evening.  This ol’ body is going to be crashing!

The moon was in the sky!

I crashed at 10:00 PM and didn’t return to life until 6:00 AM.

A little CowBoy wisdom I found funny as well as accurate!

How in the world did they get elected? Someone was asleep at the switch!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
