What The Hell Happened? And It’s Only Tuesday!

I just found out I’m colorblind. The diagnosis came completely out of the purple.

It’s 4:30 AM, so I am going back to bed as soon as I stumble through this entry

So, last night (Tuesday), around 10:00 PM, I began to cough.  It was caused by a “tickle” high up in my chest. I figured it was because of the pumpkin seeds I was munching on, but alas, around 2:00 AM, I was up and could not go to sleep.  When I lay down, the coughing would start.  I stayed up all night, not sleeping from 2:00 AM until midnight tonight (Wednesday).

I hate to be a wuss, but, at 75, I need no more “wear and tear” on this old body, so I called Dr. Pauer.  She waw me at 3:15 PM.  She is not only pretty but very caring, and she knows we do not call unless we are really sick, and I was.

Dr. Pauer is far wiser, and I let her have the mouse instead of me!

Her words were something like, “What happened? You were fine a few days ago!”  I did mention that I just had the flu shot, which could have kicked this episode off.   We got some powerful cough medicine (had to show my driver’s license to get it)  plus a new antibiotic.  I picked them up at 4:30 PM and was home by 5:00 PM, and the meds were down the hatch by 5:01 PM.

Now I take everything (Mucinex, cold syrup, and Cednirir) on four hours increments, so here I am at 4:30 AM (Wednesday), making the third round.  Surprisingly, I did get to sleep a bit.  Thank you, Dr. Pauer, and thank me for NOT being a “he-man” and attempting to tough it out!

We laid low the rest of the day watching some TV until midnight!  I was pretty sick by the time I went to bed, but right this very instant, I feel close to being human.  As expected, my bride attempted to play nurse, so we both decided watching to boob-tube would be an excellent way to spend the day!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
