On The Go!

“I’m going to donate my body to science, and keep my Dad happy – he always wanted me to go to medical school.”

We are up and getting organized for the day! I worked on the bills and Sue got lunch ready to go. We dined on Indian again and it is so good! The flavors are terrific and we know it is safe for Sue.

So good… So very very good!

We quickly got cleaned up and headed to the OC Performing Arts Center to see “Miss Saigon”, a knockoff on Madam Butterfly. This is the epic story of a young Vietnamese woman named Kim who is orphaned by war and forced to work in a bar run by a notorious character known as the Engineer. There she meets and falls in love with an American G.I., an encounter that will change their lives forever. Featuring stunning spectacle and a sensational cast of 42 performing the soaring score, including Broadway hits like “The Heat is On in Saigon,” “The Movie in My Mind,” “Last Night of the World” and “American Dream,”

Memories:  In the 6th grade, we had an outing taking a big yellow school bus to downtown Los Angeles.  We saw Madam Butterfly.  Madam Butterfly deals with a navy office in 1904 and a 15 year old Japanese girl who converts to Christianity and it shunned by her family.  Butterfly eventually takes her own life.  It is an opera and was quite an eye opener to us sixth graders!

This afternoon production was amazing with lavish sets and a full 30 piece orchestra proving the music! We enjoyed it and, as you guessed, Miss Saigon killed herself at the end of the play!

One fantastic production!

We scooted to the GG Elks afterwards and enjoyed dinner and some dancing before heading home. While chatting with folks, I received an image from the east coast and I immediately forwarded it to Miss Amy, our charming daughter-in-law!

(Sorry Joe, I could NOT resist)
