Why do mother kangaroos hate rainy days? Because then the children have to play inside.
We become conscious to another June gloom kind of day…the high is supposed to be 73 and that’s about as warm as it got. Sue sipped her champagne and I attacked the puzzle again, third week on this one! This puzzle is tough but I refuse to give up… yet!
I looked through Facebook trolling for our grandkids pictures and read some of the garbage posted by the uneducated liberal young adults our lousy colleges are producing..OMG all I could think was:
We did chores around the house and got ready for lunch with daughter Robin at CPH on PCH. CPK is a splendiferous culinary destination as they have good grub, they post the caloric content, and have a wide selection of treats for the pallet! Today’s target for me was the spinach flatbread and Chinese chicken dumplings… 780 calories total so I capped it off with iced tea. That;s all I had for the day…I expect to be under 200 pounds tomorrow…ha ha!
Miss Robin joined us making the lunch very special. Her and Bob fell in love while watching “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and it just so happened that we are going to Lilly’s birthday party tomorrow and we had tickets to Segerstrom to see Charlie and his chocolate, so…..
After lunch, we hot-footed it to Cold Stone Creamery and I feasted on a medium “Chocolate Devotion” while Sue make short work of a dark chocolate and cookie batter cup! Do not fret, we sprayed the ice cream with out anti-calorie creation and therefore we gained zero!
The spray must be used no earlier than 4.5 seconds before your first bite…it says on the instructions. We gave our ice cream two shots just to make sure!
After coming home, we did our chores. I worked in the garden getting ready to plant a second crop of corn and some new tomatoes and string beans. Then, I got buzzered (the act of being buzzed by the iPhone) by our security system… Amazon has delivered a package. YES, our new fan controller. After 25 years, the fan controller wore out. It still “works” but one has to tease the buttons to make it go.
Ripping open the package we were ready to see if our $75 investment wold work…alas, not luck. We called the company and they were so nice. Casablanca does not make this controller any more (duh) but they happened to have a used on so we bought it. In a week we will have a new controlled, they will have their controlled and I will get $75 back! Love it when a plan comes together.
We watched some TV then got ready for te Phoenix Club…dancing with friends! As the sun was setting, the sky was interesting!
Bob and Donna, Sandy and Bob, Nancy and Vince joined us at our table so the rest of the evening was a load of fun! We bopped, rocked, boogied, hoofed it, cut the rug, and triped the light fantastic for three hours!
We piloted the Silver Ghost home watching the Disneyland Firework go off in the background. Alexa knew we were home and knew the time so on went the TV and we watched Grey’s Anatomy before we had our tookies. We were in bed by 11:44 PM, an early evening!
