My New Year’s resolution is to help all my friends gain ten pounds so I look skinnier!
I am so sorry for my bride as she has to sit around and listen to me hack and cough and generally feel miserable. I Decided that NYE was too close so I went ot the doctor…I just caught pneumonia in the nick of time. I got antibiotics, codeine laden cough syrup, and another prednisone series…hoping this will do the “thing” in!
We are hosting 106 people at our country club for a Big Band New Years Eve Dinner Dance and the last thing we needed is me sick! We are blessed with three local “daughters” who will pick up the slack…just like they did last year when Sue was not feeling well. Thank you Michele, Robin, and Lisa!

Promethazine is an antihistamine. It works by preventing the effects of a substance called histamine, which is produced by the body. Histamine can cause itching, sneezing, runny nose, and watery eyes. It can sometimes close up the bronchial tubes (air passages of the lungs) and make breathing difficult. Codeine belongs to the group of medicine called narcotic analgesics (pain medicines). It acts on the central nervous system (CNS) to relieve pain.
On the bright side, I am back down to 205 pounds since I have not been eating! We hung arund the house and I worked on a couple of our Christmas movies. Take a look, they are fun to put together.
The one below is from our traditional visit to the South Coast Repertory Theater in South Coast Plaza…a tradition Sue and I have done for over thirty years. We take our kids and grandkids these days!
Another tradition is going to Disneyland on Christmas Eve. We have done tis for 53 years! Sue started in 1965 when she and her parents moved to California! This year we had Robin, Bob and Nick (for the 14th year( and Becca, Zack, Lilly, and Remy (for the 4th year—afterall, Remy is only 4 months old!)
The rest of the afternoon I spend playing on the computer and resting! We decided we could not go to the Cerritos Performing Arts Center tonight so we have our Manhatten Steamroller tickets to Charlotte… She will enjoy it! Third row center seats. I just could not sit and hack for two hours!
We watched TV and finally went to sleep…me hoping for a night cough free!
