What is the best Christmas present ever? A broken drum – you can’t beat it!
I have no idea but this time of year brings back memories; some good and some not so good. I thought about work today. I remember this saying and it is still correct today!

First things first, a run to the market to get some goodies! I needed more berries, some beer (O’Doul’s) and a few other things! Coming back home, Sue was ready to eat so we teamed up and made scrambled eggs with sautéed veggies…bell pepper and mushrooms! Delicious! I even made four pieces of veggie bacon… OK, but not fantastic. I threw in two cheese and green onion tamales to complete the meal! It was great!
After breakfast we do dessert and that when I get another berry fix… I have a scoop of fake chocolate ice-cream (whipped to put in a lot of air and reduce the amount of calories) and then lots of blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries. Antioxidants for sure!
Did You Know? Cranberries, blueberries, and blackberries ranked highest among the fruits studied. Apples ran a close second, and dried fruits were also leading contenders. Peaches, mangos, and melons, while scoring lower than berries, still contain plenty of antioxidants as well as other nutrients!
After lunch Sue read and I went back out to get some Christmas placemats, drop by CVS’s photo center, and get gas in the car!
The picture below is attempt #3 at getting the settings such that I can get an 8×10 glossy of a collage. This one has a 0.25″ border around the outside which is white (therefore you do not see it) and makes sure the content of the picture is not hidden by a picture frame! The previous attempts without any borders resulted in losing several corners in the frame. 1/4″ is perfect! Another lesson learned.
We got gussied up and headed to Malarkey’s for the 4:44 PM sunset and we just made it! It was bright and lighted up Catalina in the distance. We met up with Irene and continued solving the problems of the world! I had two small corned-beef taco’s, a house speciality plus they were only $2.00! Can’t beat that!
Returning home we watched “How Sarah Got Her Wings” and a couple of sitcom’s before crashing. Tomorrow is “doctor day” where Sue get’s her aneurism repair plan finalized, we pick to DMV paperwork from the Neurologist, and I get my face carved up by the plastic surgeon to remove some cancer on my cheek…. then we go the grandkids Christmas Play in La Mirada.
