Old Guys Day!

Guess Paul is getting goofy… In filling out an application, where it says, “In case of emergency, notify…” he answered “a doctor.”

Say what? It’s Tuesday… Time for “The Old Guys” but first…a quick look back two years ago!  Yep! That’s Paul carrying his heart on his chest just after the triple bypass.  He was getttng ready for the trip to Avalon!

Walking in May 2016 after the triple bypass… Heart in hand!

We are missing our daughter as she and Bob are in Europe taking a cruise of the Norwegian Fjords on a cruise and getting ready to go to Paris to see Disneyland Paris!

A hansom couple of a well deserved vacation!

OK… Time to walk!  Remembering is over! Today’s target was Staples to pick up some pentaflex folders…Paul is getting organized…say it ain’t so!  Today he passed 230 miles so far and is expecting to get past 250 by the end of May.

Walking on down the avenue

This little guys stuck his petals out as if to try to trip Paul but he just wanted attention.  His white leaves were like snow and the leave itself was just like crepe paper…perhaps it was not real?  Nay, it was real!

Crepe paper look-alike!

It’s now 10:00 AM and time to get freshened up and get ready to go out for lunch with “The Old Guys”… This is a group of Sue’s co-workers from years gone by and once every other month, we get together and have lunch at Taco Surf!

Today was funny… When they we passing out the bills, Paul saw his, signed it and after the waitress picked it up, recognized it was for everyone!  The bill was $110 but before we stopped drinking, the bill for just the two of us was usually around $100 so Paul didn’t give it a thought! Out bill was actually only $26…everybody got a free lunch and we got a good laugh! Paul paid for lunch!

We returned home and did some chores.  The rest of the afternoon was puttering around the house and watching TV.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
