Monday and time to visit the vampire so they can draw blood. We are off to see Sue’s heart doctor next week but he wanted to do a blood test this week! Paul brought three red crayolas and two sheets of paper and drew blood in the waiting room…he always tries to help!
Then we decided to go to Katella Deli for breakfast as Paul loves the LEO special Lox, Eggs, and Onions (Sautéed Nova Scotia style lox and onions scrambled together with three large eggs $11.95) and Sue had an eggs Benedict dish (Two poached eggs on an English muffin topped with Hollandaise sauce. Served with your choice of hash browns, potatoes O’Brien or fresh fruit $10.95)_ which puts a smile on her face.
We got a call from Colleen right on queue letting us knew she was ready to leave the hospital…perfect as Katella Deli is just next to Valley View which is the main street going to Baja Whittier.
We picked Colleen up from the Shittier Hospital at 11:15 AM and she joined us to visit the rest of the day! We stopped by our son Joe’s house on the way back as Colleen left our car there when she departed for the hospital. Made us happy as the ol’ Toyota Avalon got two round-trips to Temecula out of the deal…it needed a freeway run! It’s a super car with 140,000 miles on it…it still has the second set of tires and brakes never changed…the mechanics say it is in wonderful shape.
Colleen had photos and we picked out several… the one below is our latest Grand Daughter, Logann!
On the way home Colleen stopped at a Del Taco as she misses the fast food places from SoCal that are not in New Hampshire…real Mexican food does not exist on the East Coast! Colleen was out to visit her grandmother who is 95 and had had a couple of strokes…she is a caring child!
We visited all afternoon and then the three of us took of for Malarkey’a where we met up with Robin. An hour later Bob showed up as he was just getting in from Chicago where he had two gigs over the weekend. Then, along came Irene. We all had a great time gabbing and watching the sun sink into the ocean!
After coming home, Collen took a shower and then joined us to watch NCIS until she crashed in her easy chair. We sent he off to bed and Teri (our dear friend and Lift driver) is going to pick her up at 4:00 AM as she has a 6:00 AM flight back home!
We cannot figure out why her sister nor her mother did not visit with her since she was our here for a week. Paul is just very very lucky to have found Sue who is a real loving and caring person that indeed thinks of Colleen as her own! We could tell Colleen was a little hurt by the actions of her sister and mother but alas, as Sue says “They are the best they can be and you can’t change them”.
