We stayed around the house most of the morning with the exception of Paul fighting the pharmacy over an inhaler misunderstanding. All fixed now!
We had a nice lunch and Sue paid the bills. Paul took a short nap in preparation for tonight’s dancing and “Horse Racing” activity at Garden Grove!
We stopped by Old Ranch about 5:00 PM for a quick visit before heading to Garden Grove!
Pete & Lisa are up in Big Bear with the Duda’s as Bob is performing at the local convention center with one of is bands! Today was Pete’s birthday!
Horse racing? Well, it’s more like a controlled Chinese fire drill! Six people with hobby stick horses move forward along the race track depending upon the throw of the dice!

Irene needs new shoes!
We were there with the Branders, Irene and Pat, John and Linda, and Mike and Bridgette. We danced between races to the DJ and he did “OK”.
We used our racing form/cheet sheet to study the possibilities. We bet on every race, except the last one, and won $8… It took us $24 to “win” $8 but its for charity so who cares!
There were almost 300 people in the lodge room so it got hot… We “dared…. no, double-dog-dared” Mike to fasten the fan to his tongue. He did. The fire Department came a few minutes later!
John and Linda study the cheat sheet.
There off and running!
Did You Know? At a horse race, it is a signal that all mounts should be at the paddock exit in order to proceed to the track to begin the post parade. The tune is usually sounded by a bugler five to 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of the race. The call serves a similar purpose in dog racing. When used for this purpose, the bugle call is usually referred to as the Call to the Post.
The dice rolls, the appropriate horse “races” forward… Whoever crosses the finish line first, wins!
…and they are off and walking…
We had a great fried chicken dinner with salad, biscuits & gravy, macaroni and cheese, and rolls! … Best fried chick Paul has had in years and years!
We departed about 10:30 PM and headed home as the dancing (between races) finally go to Paul’s knee.
We watched three Frazier’s and crashed!
