A Busy Day, Even By Our Standards

We began the day having lunch with “The Ol’ Guys”, Sue’s old Boeing group  who have been retiring and decided to get together every other month at Taco Surf in Sunset Beach.  We had a great time swapping stories and finding out about other folks! Join the fun1

Good food… Good memories

Getting together again !

Paul’s tamales (pork and chicken) were excellent

Robin had a shrimp quesadilla

We then headed for home for a few minutes before going to Laguna and meeting with Donna and Bob at the Laguna Canyon Winery.  We fooled around there buying some wine before dinner.

Winery and Auto Collision – An Odd Couple!

We met Donna and Bob plus picked up a case of the newly released wine!

We drove down the canyon to the Festival Grounds parking area and carefully put our steed away for a couple of hours.  We walked to “The Lumber Yard” and had dinner.  Paul should NOT have done it but the pork chop special looked too inviting!  Dang it was good!

Excellent dining in the heart of Laguna

We then walked across the street to the festival grounds and had a glass of wine before meeting up with everyone for the Pageant Of The Masters.  We had about 30 of our group there including Mike (who backed out of doing the statue of David after he saw a picture of it).

Amazing artwork comes to life

In the 17th and 18th centuries, the desire to experience the world’s great art firsthand inspired the European tradition of continental travel on “the grand tour.” Inspired to set out on pilgrimages by land and sea to the great cultural centers of Europe, and eventually the globe, those early travelers often risked life and limb to stand in the presence of masterpieces.

Your Pageant ticket to THE GRAND TOUR becomes your passport to experience spectacle, music, stories and grand illusions as masterpieces come to life. Book your passage now for this breathtaking theatrical journey through the centuries in search of unforgettable art.

We departed Laguna at 11:00 PM and got home about midnight.  Yes, we watched one Frasier before crashing!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
