Summer Be Here!

OMG… Starting tomorrow, the days will be getting shorter every day until December 21st! Where is the year going? Remember, it is only 187 days until Christmas!  We are half way there!

Did You Know: The precise moment of the solstice occurs when the sun is directly above the Tropic of Cancer, which will happen at 9:24 p.m. PDST on June 20. The Tropic of Cancer, which is located at 23.5 degrees latitude North, runs through Mexico, the Bahamas, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, India and southern China.

We started the day by getting tickets to the Trump Beer and Wine Festival… Too many tickets… Long story but as you can suspect, it involves computers!  So we now have 8 tickets worth about $1600 and we have only four going so far!  Ouch!  It will work it’s way out!

After that excitement, we headed to Irvince Spectrum to visit with Rene and Nicole Alcala, good friends from Catal Restaurant in Downtown Disney.  We have known Rene for ten years and he recently married and Nicole is expecting.  We all went to Javier’s and had a terrific lunch!

Rene and Sue

Did Paul say steak… OMG!  Any larger and it would have walked out on its own!  The steak was beyond tender… Simply magnificent!  The term carne asada literally translates to “grilled meat” and this one was done perfectly! The menu states “New York Steak #1 prime center cut 12oz grilled and served with a grilled pasilla chile stuffed with cotija and Monterey Jack cheese. Served with refried black beans.”

Paul ordered the Carne Asada 12 oz steak and he shared it with Rene

We visited for a couple of hours and then headed out.  They look so happy and the due date is just around the corner… July 20th!

The kids are off to put together a crib… Oh oh!

So it is 3:00 PM and what should we do? Home! Indeed, to rest until the next outing at 5:00 PM!  So were are we going… You guess it, Taco Tuesday at Old Ranch with the Linds… Zack, Becca, and Lilly!  We asked Noah and Laura to join us plus, as an added bonus, we had Mike Anderson join the fray!  Just what Paul needs… More Mexican food!

Lilly… Always the little helper!

We called a cab… Thank you John!

Back of the bus!

Time to visit the wildlife

Baby ducks are a quack-up!

Great Grandma Sue assists Lilly in feeding Lilly?

After the visit to the course, we returned to the clubhouse and gabbed for another half-hour before heading for home!

We watched Blue Bloods and Frazier and then crashed about 11:00 PM.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
