We played golf this fine day and we were happy to see the “Gray May”  leave us… Now it is the “June Gloom”!  We did a short Happy Hour before going home, changing, and heading to the OC Performing Arts Center.  We parked at the Center Club and went in to have a glass of wine before the show.  Our bartender knows us fairly well and he ordered a cheese/chicken flatbread for us.  Sue was able to have some of the crust while Paul devoured the flatbread.  It was terrific!

A super musical!

The show tonight was a musical based on the movie “The Bodyguard”.  Former Secret Service agent turned bodyguard, Frank Farmer, is hired to protect superstar Rachel Marron from an unknown stalker. Each expects to be in charge; what they don’t expect is to fall in love. A breathtakingly romantic thriller, THE BODYGUARD features a host of irresistible classics including “Queen of the Night,” “So Emotional,” “One Moment in Time,” “Saving All My Love,” “Run to You,” “I Have Nothing,” “I Wanna Dance with Somebody,” and one of the biggest selling songs of all time – “I Will Always Love You”.

Grammy® Award-nominated and multi-platinum R&B/pop recording artist and film/TV actress Deborah Cox* stars in this stunning musical based on Lawrence Kasdan’s Oscar®-nominated Warner Bros. film and adapted by Academy Award®-winner Alexander Dinelaris, THE BODYGUARD had its world premiere in London’s West End where it was nominated for four Laurence Olivier Awards including Best New Musical and won Best New Musical at the Whatsonstage Awards.

“It started with a gunshot and kept us on the edge of our seats from the outset. Exciting, thrilling, uplifting, moving – The Bodyguard is a truly exceptional show!” – Southern Daily Echo

Recommended for ages 13 and up. The Bodyguard contains some adult language, mature situations and brief simulated violence and gun shots.

After getting home we watched Hawaii 5-0 and the last Cheers!  Oh dear, what do we do tomorrow?

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
