As soon as we got up we set to boiling about ten gallons of water because it is time to make our first tomato sauce of the year!
Paul got up early and worked in the garden! The new design is working out very well! He can stand up and get to al the plants, toss the waste onto the ground to be swept up at a later date!

We harvested the remained of our corn today! We had 20+ ears!
We also harvested about 50 pounds of tomatoes which will soon be tomato sauce a’ la Sue. 50 pounds boils down into three quarts!

The corn is on the left and the tomatoes are collected along the wall
As we walked around the garden we spotted several cantaloupes! They are about eight inches in diameter right now but growing like mad! It’s going to be an excellent harvest!

They are hanging right now so it is time to tie them up with some netting
One of the tomato plants died (probably because of to much shade form the corn). After clearning the remainder of the corn and removing the tomato plant we spotted out asparagus. We have had several asparagus this year right form the plant. Next year we are going to put smaller plants in front of the asparagus so they can get the full sun.

The ferns you see are actually asparagus heads that we DID NOT pick so they grew into ferns which is good as thet sends energy to the plant well below the ground!
Meanwhile inside the cauldrons are bubbling making the most delicious tomato sauce known to man! We have this down to a science. We started at 8:00am and were done by 10:00am and the sauce kept on going until it was time to go to Happy Hour!!

The cauldrons were churning giving the house that wonderful tomato sauce aroma!
Our work is done here! Now we are off to Old Ranch to have some Happy Hour before going to the Elks to dance the night away!

We try to help Marianne with her phone… We all failed!
Street Corner Symphony played and they did OK in the volume department but the singer was a bit screechy! We danced until 10:00 and then headed home. Paul was a good boy and only had half of his salmon being the other home. He is really working on his diet. He remains under 200 pounds!
