Interesting Day

We stayed around the house working in the garden and Sue doing her exercises.  The garden is beginning to look a little bare!  Paul spent 45 minutes pollinating blossoms on the watermelons and cantaloupes.  We had so many blossoms but they were not turning into fruit.  The culprit seems to be a lack of bees!  The internet suggested moving the pollen form the male blossoms to the female blossoms using a tiny art brush or physically rub the female blossoms with the male blossoms!  Paul had no tiny art brushes so….  He said “I feel like a pervert!”  Now we have to wait and see what happens!

Female watermelon blossoms... See the tiny watermelon that will form if she get pollinated

The male blossom resides on a thin stem (no baby watermelon)

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
