We started the day at a “Celebration Of Life” at the Newport Harbor Elks. We lost a dear friend, Bob Fielder, in December of last year. Today we had a formal Elks memorial service which was very well executed. Members of the US Army were represented and played Taps. After the service we went downstairs and enjoyed a buffet and swapped stories and tall tales about Bob. Sandy Smith was there and we are happy to see her moving forward.
We will miss Bob and we still look up whenever we are at the Garden Grove or Newport Harbor Elks when someone enters the room… We expect to see Bob and Sandy march in and join our table!
We raced out about 1:00 so we could be in Cerritos at the Performing Arts Center at 2:00 for a wonderful performance of Momma Mia! What a show… Sold out! We had the Branders and Cathey’s with us which made for a delightful afternoon! We were still humming the tunes later that evening!
We dropped by home to freshen up and pick up Lorraine so she could get out of the house! He headed for Garden Grove to danced to Dave Ambrose! We danced and talked with the Branders, Neal and Nita, and Lorraine! We visited several other people who we know! It was a nice evening.
The we went home and watched NCIS before crashing at midnight!
