Life Day Twenty-Nine

Estimated reading time: 1 minute

Sue was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer on October 23th 1997, and the diagnosis was NOT good. As usual, she took on the fight head-on and laughed in cancer’s face. We went to Disneyland that day, and I purchased yearly passes, making sure we would be together a year later. We called the purchase “Life Day” and went to Disneyland every October 23 for the next twenty-plus years. Well, she was with us twenty-three years before passing and NOT due to cancer.

Mary and I rose at 7:00 am this morning, a little later than normal because it was finally cool outside and the covers were nice and warm. Oreo was in her bed,, and she shot out of the bedroom like a rocket to the backyardtod do her business. (I think she slept so well because of all the chasing she did yesterday; come to think of it, that’s probably why I slept so late.)

“Let’s play!!!”

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
