Another Dry Rainy Day!

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

Another bright and sunny “rainy day”.  The rain started and stopped several times but there was always a blue spot in the sky!

We went to the gym and subjected ourselves to flagellation.   We got a dose of everything this morning including beating, belting, buffeting, caning, clubbing, cold purgatorial fires, corporal punishment, cowhiding, cudgeling, drubbing, eremitism, fasting, flailing, flogging, fustigation, horsewhipping, lacing, lashing, lustration, maceration, mendicantism, monachism, monasticism, mortification, penance, penitence, penitential act, penitential exercise, pistol-whipping, purgation, purgatory, puritanism, rawhiding,  and repentance…and that was just for starters!!

We escaped at 10:00 am and headed for home!  Home Sweet Home!

Arriving home, we walked the front yard and to our surprise our little avocado tree is doing just great at hiding its fruit.  We have about six so far this season but there are probably 50 buds forming on the stems right now!

Our avocados are doing well.

The forecast again was for rain but we got about 0.1 inches today.  We did get a lot of wind… I mean, at this rate, my hair is about to file for a job as a kite!.

The wind was blowing but the rain really never came.

Mary’s bulbs are finally starting to bloom!  Botanically, bulbs are actually modified stems surrounded by fleshy leaves. Therefore, what most of us refer to collectively as bulbs may be true bulbs, corms, tubers, rhizomes, or tuberous roots.

The bulbs are beginning to come up!

Looking carefully, we did find some oranges on our tree.  It will be another 5-10 years and the tree ought to be doing fantastic but for tight now, we will accept ten oranges per season.

We have oranges in the front yard!

Mary finally finished off her taxes and I cleaned out most of the bookshelves in the office.  Domilita and her staff came in about 3:00 pm and as they started their work, we slipped out the door and did some errands.

The name “Domitila” is a girl’s name of Latin origin, meaning “tamed” or “docile,” and is a variant of the name Domitilla, which was borne by Flavia Domitilla, the wife of Roman emperor Vespasian.

We went to Staples and then we decided to go to an early dinner at Benjies.  We sat in the bar and I always order their special drinks which thye keep on the chalkboard!

I had a St. Patrick-Rita!

A Kosher Quesadilla, what else???

Chicken wings, one of our favorites

Yes we do!
