We Made A Donation!

Think about it; it’s scary!

Today, we took a stroll in the garden and discovered no rats were caught in our traps.  We had a productive time by the fire discussing preparations for the upcoming party on Saturday.

We identified a few tasks that need to be completed, including acquiring propane, getting lawn spray for varmints, and rearranging some furniture.  It’s great to see progress being made!

We remembered last year’s party.

Great fun with family and friends!

We took our morning walk around the backyard and went to see everyone.  They need to be happy for the party1

How do roses fight in wars?  With Flower Power.

Good morning Rose!

Today, we’re taking Scout to the beauty parlor to prepare him for the Saturday party.  Afterward, we went to the Elks for lunch.  We decided not to bother asking Jan to join us as she has refused for almost two years, so why get upset?  We’ll be traveling soon, so we won’t be able to see her until late September.

While en route to the groomer, Scout expressed his desired haircut. However, we declined as it resembled a pinata.  His request reminded me of my teenage son’s request for a Mohawk.

No way, Scout! You would look like a pinata, and someone would beat you to death!

Last year Scout wore his tuxedo to the party, and he wants to do the same this year.

Scout goes to the groomer so he can wear his tuxedo!

Mary and Colleen booked our reservations for our upcoming trip to the East Coast.  Mary will be attending a conference in Maine, and after it’s over, we’ll drive to visit Colleen in New Hampshire before heading back home.  Our trip will last a week, and Mary can earn CME credits during the conference.  Plus, we’ll get to see Colleen, making this trip a win-win for everyone involved.

We are off to the Elks Lodge for Girls’ Night Out and had a crew of twelve today.  Bob Z is winging his way to Oregon to visit Cyndy before Bob leaves on his five-week European tour.

Mmmm!  Lunch and no cleanup!  Can life get better?  I submit that it can NOT!

Girls Night Out!

During our conversation, the topic of drinking arose, and it was mentioned that our group is primarily abstinent.  I prefer non-alcoholic beer, while Mary has a wine, Bill has a 1/2 martini, Bob usually has wine, and Sydney and her dad a wine.

I had a good idea about a modification we could make to our house.

We would need plastic glasses!

Colleen’s mother is experiencing severe health problems, so she left in my car to go to the hospital.  We had to pick up Scout from his hairdresser, so Mary took Precious (also known as “The Rocket”), allowing him to display his new haircut to passing people.

Mary and I worked around the house until Robin came by at 4:30 pm, and the girls then prepared a small dinner.

Around 7:00 pm, Colleen arrived, and shortly after, Chuck and Lisa returned.  We discussed the game of Telestrations that we had played earlier in the week.  Chuck proposed trying “Telestrations After Dark,” an adult version of the game.

Well, we ordered it and were slightly shocked at the raunchiness of the game.  Chuck did not believe me until he read the words and mentioned his version was bought twenty years ago; that explains a lot.

We gave the game to Colleen so the younger kids could play the devilish version while we stick to the G-rated one.

We gab until almost 10:00 pm!

At 9:30 pm, everyone went to their rooms and fell asleep.  We were too exhausted to even take a dip in the pool, despite the temperature being a pleasant 88 degrees.  However, we need to start preparing for the party tomorrow.

It seems that Carlos will be arriving early to take care of the lawn maintenance before the dance floor and tables arrive.  Additionally, a representative from AAA Calvert named CJ has arranged for a professional to fix the pool lighting in preparation for the upcoming party.
