Thursday; I Get To See With My New Eye!

Estimated reading time: 3 minutes

We were off in a trail of dust at 6:05 am, heading toward the doctor’s office and arriving 15 minutes early.  He was surprised, but my sight is now 20-25, and the swelling has yet to complete.  I was amazed this morning to find out my 27″ Apple screen is bright white, not off-white!

We returned home for a little while and then went to Girls’ Night Out at the Lodge.  There was just us, Bill, and Bob; it was a low turnout today! We stayed until about 1:30 pm when we headed home to await Dianne and Robin; we were going to a show this evening.

while awaiting their arrival I walked the garden and Mary continued working on her boxes.  The zucchini are starting to blossom and you can tell the boys form the girls!

The one on the left is a boy, and the girl is on the right. When they get together, thanks to the local bees, we get vegetables.

First, we went to the Elks and joined them in celebrating National Prime Rib Day.  The steaks were amazing!  We departed Santa Ana at 6:45 pm and arrive at Garden Grove at 7:15 pm, just enough time for the girls to walk down Main Street while I rested on a park bench.

The ladies are ready!

Dianne got the tickets and found out about the theater as the Friday night car show is always held on this street.

It’s a small 158-seat theater.

We saw Patsy Cline, who was an American singer. She is considered one of the most influential vocalists of the 20th century and was one of the first country music artists to cross over into pop music.

What do you get when you play a country music record backward?  You get your wife back, your truck back, your dog back!

There were two brothers that happened to be boll weevils. One brother desired more than just to destroy crops and learned to play guitar. He got so good he became a successful country music star.  His brother just stayed home and slept. You could say he was the lesser of two weavels.

The show tonight was terrific, and the band was outstanding.

She had Patsy’s features and mannerisms down pat.

At the intermission, we had a seat in the foyer antiroom.

Awaiting the show to start at the GEM Theater in Garden Grove

At intermission, we needed to walk around!

At intermission!

We departed the theater at 10:45 pm and made it home in fifteen minutes.  We crashed, needless to say!  Scout, The Wionder Dog, was happy to see us return, and there was no evidence of elephants being in the yard; Scout worked hard!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
