Robin stayed with us last night after visiting Catal, and the three of us got up and sat by the fire pit, taking in the day’s beauty. We expected it to be warmer than it was; the temperature only reached 72 degrees!
We called Jan at 10:30 am and asked her to join us, and I drove over and picked her up, a five-minute drive from our home. She jumped in the car, and we had a three-hour visit while walking in the garden, sitting on the patio, devouring a cheese log, and sipping on a glass of wine.
Jan had only seen the garden via photos and was amazed to see it up close and personal!
We took her home at 2:30 pm and took a nap to prepare for the Elks 5-Star Band at 6:00 pm.
While Jan was here, we showed her the latest Starlighters Menu, which was taken from the book Jan gave us, and we loaned it to Vicky. Vicky is so talented!
A guy walks into a bar, takes a seat, and looks over the menu. “What’ll it be?” the bartender asks. “I’ll have the Chameleon,” the guy replies. “Um, that’s not on the menu,” the bartender says. “How can you be sure?” the guy asks.
A man sat down in a restaurant, and the waiter came over to the table.
The man says, “I’d like tomato juice, scrambled eggs with spinach, and some cherry pie.”
“But you haven’t looked at the menu yet,” said the waiter.
“No, but I’ve looked at the tablecloth,” replies the man.
Before my nap, I installed our new scanner, an Epson WF-580w; fancy letters for a two-sided desktop scanner. Now Mary and I can scan away at our leisure!
We are off to the Elks, and we took Precious this evening; she needed to go for a drive because she has been coupled up in the garage for the past several months.
The music was excellent, albeit on the country western side, but we answered the call with a Texas Two-Step!
Bob and Donna joined us, and the girls planned the next 30 days’ worth of adventures, including Mother’s Day and the upcoming Elks events.
Bob and Donna stayed with us, but after a while, it was time to go home and watch a movie.
We called Jan on the way home, and she was doing just fine and enjoyed the outing. This was wonderful as now we can trade off visiting, and perhaps she will join us at the Elks for Girls’ Night Out.
We watched “That Thing You Do” before crashing. Remember, you can’t have a better tomorrow if you are always thinking about yesterday.
