Another Day Of Care Completed!

Poor Baby was sick again all day!

Mary didn’t even leave the bedroom today, but she said she was feeling better.  When she awoke, I asked her, “Why don’t ants get sick?” I immediately recognized she was in no mood for my humor but I had to answer, “Because they have little anty bodies.”

My self-control was gone, so I asked, “Where do sick fish go?” I did not wait for the look of disdain and I blurted out, “To the sturgeon.”  Within a microsecond, I was gone and heading for the kitchen

Breakfast was served, Dave’s 2,453-grain bread with Irish butter arriving at her bedside at exactly 115.5 degrees.  Of course, she got her morning coffee brewed with care. I thought to myself,  A coffee a day keeps the grumpy away.

The office got a lot of attention today while MAry watched TV.  At lunchtime I prepared chicken soup with extra noodles and added mushrooms for good measure.  She had her afternoon tea at 12:05 am!

Mid-afternoon I went to the garden and surveyed the drip system deciding I had to go to Home Depot for parts.  On the way back, I stopped at Ralph’s to stock up on the necessities of life, including orange juice, lemonade checked soup, sushi, and other “when you are sick” foods. My list had five items on it, but alas, I went wild and came home with six bags of goodies!

I almost filled it up!

I put everything away so Mary would not find out, but if she opened the refrigerator door, it might be a dead giveaway when the avalanche of stuff comes flying out onto the floor.

I laid in bed with her using a mask, surgical gloves, and a raincoat just so we could watch TV together. At 6:00 pm, I was back in the kitchen, slaving over a hot stove.

She wanted chicken soup with noodles again with mushrooms.  Easy peasy, I have this diner down flat. For additional flavor, I added a little eye of octopus (we did not have any newts around). I delivered it complete with fresh orange juice and followed it up with a big cinnamon chocolate chip tookie I freshly baked.

We watched a little more TV, I had to give up on “New Amsterdam” as they got crazy with gays and racial stuff, I can’t take all that junk!  We watched “Up Shitts Creek,” which is pretty funny.  Summary: After being a victim of fraud, Johnny Rose and his family go from extremely wealthy to penniless overnight. The only asset left to them is a small, unsophisticated town: Schitt’s Creek.

I went to bed at 11:00 pm and Mary was still coughing and giggling when I turned off the lights!
