Thanksgiving Down; Christmas Up!

Fact: Hanging stockings started by accident Legend has it, we hang stockings by the chimney with care thanks to a poor man who didn’t have enough money for his three daughters’ dowries. Generous old St. Nick dropped a bag of gold down their chimney one night after the girls had hung their freshly-washed stockings there to dry. That’s where the gold ended up, and the tradition stuck.

Mary, Paul, and Scout’s socks are ready.

My big responsibility was to keep the grass watered; it is looking pretty good and maybe this week we will begin weeding activities, oh joy!
The view from upstairs makes the grass look pretty good after months of being brown and trampled on by the contractors/workers.

Around mid-afternoon, the dinner bell rang and Mary had fixed another super turkey sandwich.  I know not what magic she puts into her creation but whatever it is, it makes the sandwich better than a T-Bone steak!

S-h-h-h-h The Chef is at work!

We were both not up to out usual 110% so we stopped doing chores and sat around the dining room table and watched Christmas movies.   We talked to the kids and extended family via the bat-phone (commonly known as Alexa) before crashing early hoping the shake whatever we had going on.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
