A Day To Remember

Fact: Memorial Day (originally known as Decoration Day) is a federal holiday in the United States for mourning the U.S. military personnel who have died while serving in the United States armed forces. It is observed on the last Monday of May.

Jon, our oldest grandson, called this morning just to talk. Jon was out and about, and in his town, they put up a flag for all the military people they lost through the years. He flew his drone down the walkway with the camera running. It was a little sobering.

We worked in the garden all morning, and I finished the He-Shed cleanup. You can now actually walk inside without fear of an avalanche or having to walk on your tippy toes.

I flew my drone today for the first time without assistance. Before I knew it, the derned things went over at the neighbor’s house a block away, and I had to send it back! It is a load of fun, but I must remember to wear my glasses.

The He-Shed is looking good these days! I did toss out several duplicated garden tools and found things I had lost for years.

I can get inside and walk around now!

The shed is convenient to the backyard, so I had put tools inside that I often need to work in the yard. We have some flowers in the planters, and they look lovely. I thought to myself, “Pollen is what happens when flowers can’t keep it in their plants.”

The He-Shed is looking good!

We had brunch of my favorite, gruel! Sitting on the patio looking out over the south forty is very enjoyable.

We got cleaned up and headed for Studio-M. The studio put on a dance for Mary’s birthday and Capp’s 56th anniversary. Mary brought her favorite wine glass with her to the dance! The first thing on my bucket list is to fill the bucket with wine.

What’s the secret to enjoying a good bottle of wine? Open the bottle to let it breathe. If it doesn’t look like it’s breathing, give it mouth-to-mouth.

The birthday girl gets to dance!

The dance started at 2:00 PM and ended at 5:00 PM. We had a good-sized group today.

Our group is quite friendly.

The dance floor is perfect for our group, and the mirrors on the wall make the studio look even more prominent.

The music is connected to the internet so we can request anything and it is played.

Marcin threw in the Hokey-Pokey because he knew everyone would get up and dance. I was addicted to the hokey pokey, but thankfully, I turned myself around.

We dance for three hours.

We have so much fun together that it should be illegal! My wife and I always compromise. I admit I’m wrong, and she agrees with me.

Just us!

We laugh a lot. If laughter is the best medicine, we will be healthy for many years!

Just us!

Mary better celebrate; only two more days of her birthday month remain.

Yes indeed!

Suddenly, the room warmed up; I thought Marcin had turned on the heater. Well, it was the birthday cake. The candles raised the temperature by five degrees!

One candle for every 5.38 years.

At 5:00 PM, we jumped in the car the went VFR to the Orange Circle, where Renata is located. The restaurant is excellent and had Mary’s favorite Veal Piccata. I ordered the Sinatra Pasta, which Bob Z suggested!

We arrived at 5:30 PM, right on time.

We made arrangements for two tables of six, and they put them together, so we were all together,

We had quite a group today.

The conversations must have been funny because there was a load of laughs. I overheard someone say, “If a parsley farmer gets sued, can they garnish his wages?”

Hello ladies!

We took home meatballs and angel hair pasta and dropped them off at Jan’s house. We visited for a while and then went home and crashed.
