Halloween was confusing. All my life, my parents said, ‘Never take candy from strangers.’ And then they dressed me up and said, ‘Beg for it.’
We just begged all day and did not even leave the house except to get additional candy just in case!
Mid-afternoon, we sat and had a glass of wine and remembered the Venus Flytrap had not been fed. So, I brushed Mary with some bi=utter and sprinkled sugar on her arm. It’s odd; she does not attract flies? So I put my arm out and zot, flies, came from miles around.
We bopped one right on the head and took it inside while it was still moving. Seymour, our Venus Flytrap, was tickled green! Pme thing troubled me. I had a plastic flyswatter while Mary was carrying a three-pound sledgehammer. I am so glad I saw the fly first!
Mary dropped it in one of his blossoms and zap; the sucker closed at the speed of lightning. We watched it for a day, and it squeezed the fly to where it was almost flat. Imagine that, a flay fly…say that three times!
We went to the swim spa about 5:00 PM to get ready for the scads of little trick or treaters! We started a movie with Bruce Willis in it; it was not so good! We were out by 6:00 PM and went to the Living Room/TV Room to be close to the front door.
Well, we had a total of eight kids! We crashed as Mary has to work tomorrow! By 900 PM were done and watched the rest of the movie. We should have gone to the Halloween dance party in Chino!
