We went to Alpine Village to see GV Swing City Band! Geo Valle’s 19-piece Swing City Big Band is considered, hands down, the best in the Southern California area. The band consists of top young musicians who perform with such notable artists as Natalie Cole, Barry Manilow, and Monica Mancini to name a few. Since forming in 2004, the band has created a unique mix of power as well as a reverence for the classic big band music of the 30’s, 40’s and 50’s. The swing revival currently going gangbusters in clubs and ballrooms across the nation is generating a new audience for swing music, both contemporary and classic.
