Q: What would you call an elf who just has won the lottery? A: Welfy.
It’s 6:45 AM and I departed for Dr. Newman’s office to have a spot on the forehead checked. The dermatologist is a regular stop on the doctor rounds I do every few months! A scraping was taken and the report will be back in a week! Off to the Red Brick Building and the top floor!
Heading home after a very short visit the Sun was still coming up and the sky was gold. The Silver Ghost decided to stop and the old trusty iPhone popped a few snapshots to remember this morning and it forty-degree start!
Today is grumpy-day because Colleen is heading home and will miss our trek to Disneyland on Christmas Eve and Christmas Dinner at the Chinese restaurant and three Christmas dances and, well, you know, everything!
She said goodbye to her brother this morning after a short visit in La Mirada. Joe will join us for lunch later in the day if all goes well.
However, we did have a great time and her being at my 75th birthday was special. It’s nice when someone cares enough to travel 3,000 miles to celebrate something this special! All four kids (Robin, Michele, Joe, and Colleen) were there making my day! We can hardly wait for the arrival of the pictures! There was even my childhood pet there, a walking-talking dinosaur!
After returning home I quickly cleaned the house so the house cleaners could clean! Well, the last week has been non-stop and the Christmas and birthday presents have been piling up on every surface in the house! So, I put everything on the couch and chair in the front room so we could see tot kitchen counter!
Colleen’s visit was short so she came y our house and we visited until it was time to go to ORCC for a drink and a snack. Just what we needed because at 2:00 PM we met at CPK for lunch with Robin.
At 3:00 PM I began to run out of gas and Robin, bless her heart, took Colleen to the airport and we returned and crashed!
For some reason, I thought about my job on Apollo (we are going back 45 years now) and ran into this explanation of the Acceptance Checkout Equipment (ACE) system. I worked with ACE for almost three years to checkout Apollo CSM 2TV1, 101, 103, 104, and 106. I was a “certified operator” of the equipment. The video sure brought back some memories!
We took a nice long three-hour nap and they got up to watch a Christmas movie entitled “Christmas On Chesnut Street”. Summary: A store decides to start a contest to sell off 60,000 Xmas lights, ordered by accident. The competition soon causes unrest among the locals, but the Store’s owner, Diane, wants to keep what has become a very profitable competition going, at all costs.
Then we watched “Thomas Kincade presents Christmas Lodge”. Summary: Mary Tobin, a pretty, young historical preservationist, sets out for a long weekend of hiking and relaxation with her boyfriend of one year, Kent Summers. Everyone wants Kent to propose to Mary. When she visits her family before they take off, she visits her Grandpa, who is sick and near death.
We also watched two “Last Man Standing” episodes and crashed at 11:22 PM. We went to bed missing our daughter!
