Tis Tuesday…A Day Of Rest

I was born in 1962 … and the room next to me was 1963.

We started with a trip to Ralph’s Market…I saw a recipe on Facebook I wanted to try and by golly, it worked!

I was thinking about my Dad this morning.  He was a “window dresser” in the 1930’s, an occupation that really does not exist any more. A job as a Window Dresser falls under the broader career category of Merchandise Displayers and Window Trimmers.

Job Description for Merchandise Displayers and Window Trimmers” Plan and erect commercial displays, such as those in windows and interiors of retail stores and at trade exhibitions.

He taught me to dress windows and I did that for three dime stores while I was in high school…once a week I would redress the windows at the stores on Pico Blvd and on La Cienega.

Lots of bending over and careful placement required!

Most of the day I did paperwork and getting plans for the busy Christmas season finalized!  We have stuff going on almost continually!

We finalized our number at 88 friends and family this year for the Christmas Play

Sue us out of reading materials so I popped up to Barnes and Noble and got ten new fiction book’s…one of these days I will get to read them!

We both took naps in the afternoon.  We called Mitch and arranged to take him out for his birthday which is coming up soon…off to Patty’s Place for a big steak!

I had to laugh at this one! It is so true…kids today can’t handle 3,4,5, or 6 on the floor!

In the evening we watched TV and crashed about 10:30 PM.  I have two imaging procedures tomorrow at noon so I plan to walk in the early morning, if it is not too cold!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
