The End Of The Week! Yeah!

“I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.”  Noël Coward

Paul walked…  One hour and made it to 204 miles…this is good! Paul met a new dog…a Scottie..he was ferocious until Paul bent down and talked to him!

Random Memories:  Paul often thinks about Paul Senior these days and he remembers that dad had emphysema starting at the ago of 50.  It was so bad, we was not able to walk more than about 300 feet without gasping for air…that’s what smoking will do yo you.  When we traveled with Dad, we had to make sure there were zero stairs and had to plan the distance form the car to where ever we were going.  The effort Paul has been into minding his health, even after smoking for 20+ years, seems to have paid off because at 73 years of age, he can walk for 3-4 hours without a problem!  I often wonder if some of the problem was from the fact dad has polio or what thy used to call polio when we was younger.

Circa 1961 when Dad finally gave up cigarettes… He was already 60 years of age and had smoked for 40 years!

Passed 200 miles with flying colors!!

We had a great brunch and then Paul  headed to garage to continue to reduce the size of stuff.   He moved the tool bench around, now that it is on casters, plus packed and stacked some other stuff to make room!  It’s actually looking pretty good now.

Paul worked in the garden doing some last minute watering and planing…this are looking pretty good.  We ought be having tomatoes in another month!

It’s afternoon and we headed to the GG Elks to listen and dance to Henry the DJ… Good music and the volume was pretty tolerable!  Bob and Donna, the Branders, and Will and Iris joined us for the evening.  Loads of fun!

Home we go and we watched a little TV before crashing.  All in all, the day was good!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
