Paul’s legs (calves) will not cooperate so we stayed home all day. Paul worked on the computer, we both took nice naps, and did some easy non-motion-required chores!
At 5:00 PM cabin fever got serious so we got gussied up and headed to Patty’s Place.
Paul was going to have a bowl of soup and stay on a diet but, as usual, some guy sat next to him with a great big steak and that did it! Paul had a steak! Sue nibbled at a twice-baked potato which really looked good!
Did You Know: To don fancy clothing; to dress up particularly in flattering or specially altered garments. You bet she’ll gussy up for the party.
From the latin elgussio which means “to wear a dress”. Originating from France, circa 1763 from the Napoleonic army, the word was used to describe the soldiers who were forced to pretend to be women to service the other enlisted men. Napoleon himself is quoted from his published memoirs as saying “Oh, how I wish I had a gussie with me tonight.”
We headed home, took some additional meds, watched a movie and one Frasier before crashing about 11:00 PM. It is funny how we get tired when we don’t do anything! Tomorrow is a big day!
