Paul slept late which is a miracle in itself. By the time he was out of the shower, Irene and Greg were busy gardening… watering… pulling weeds… harvesting! Great to have such wonderful friends! We are indeed blessed!

After all the medical nonsense of the past couple of weeks we are surprised our garden does not look like this!
About noon we headed to Cafe Picareli in Long Beach and enjoyed an Italian meal. Paul did the Pasta Fruiti del Mari (Cioppino by any other name). Not bad at all but he left a lot of pasta behind!
Greg and Irene departed from the restaurant to return to their homes so we decided to go to Costo to walk… We did 45+ minutes just walking around looking at all the goodies. Guess that would be “inside window shopping”.
Adriana, our cleaning lady, was scheduled today so we left Costo and went to Old Ranch! We decided to go to Old Ranch to spend some time before going home. Sue had a great idea so we grabbed a golf cart, filled up our quart container with the vitamin fortified duck food, and drove most of the course visiting the ducks, geese, swan, and the baby ducks! We get the food from a local livery which specializes in outstanding food for farm animals.
On hole three we spotted the geese. They looked up and recognized Sue and hurried over honking up a storm! We are seriously thinking about talking a course in “Conversational Goose” at the local junior college!
They seemed to enjoy their meal and we are sure they honked “Thank You” as we departed.
On the fifteenth hole we spotted the babies! Mommy had seven little ones with her. She and daddy were watching the babies carefully. When Sue shook the quart of food, mommy knew who it was and urged her babies to come right at us! It’s amazing!
Daddy did what daddy’s do… He kept and eye out for threats while his little family dined! He is a good father!
On hole nineteen we spotted Lilly the Swan who is a rescue Swan. She cannot fly but can swim and walk around. Rumor has it that we (ORCC) will be receiving two more black swans in the near future. Everyone is excited about the addition of the swan to the course!
Obviously Lilly and Sue have yet to “meet” so Sue was extremely careful not to frighten Lilly. We did introduce her to the sound of the food rattling in the quart container. A couple of ducks came over to dine as they knew the sound.
We headed into the clubhouse and met with James and Bullwinkle (Wayne) for a drink. James E and Charlotte joined us for a while before Paul got tired and had to go home. Paul does not understand why just sitting makes one tired but upon arriving home, Paul went horizontal for two hours!
We watched some TV before crashing for the night!
