Too Hot To Walk; A Full Day

It was 87 degrees when Paul took off for an “hour or so walk”!  Paul was back in 45 minutes dripping wet!  Just took it easy and did 1.8 miles in 45 minutes!

45 minutes was enough

It too hot and wet to walk more than 45 minutes!

We had an appointment with the back doctor.  He turned on his TV and we got to see all the hardware in Sue’s back!  An amazing shot!  Technology changes so rapidly!

We got a text from Charlotte who is in Hawaii and of course we replied with the last picture of us in Hawaii.  Always good for a giggle or two!

After the doctor and a visit to the hospital for pre-op we decided to go to Cafe St. Germain on Main Street in Seal Beach!  They had their air conditioning on and it was perfect.  Normally the windows are wide open but today the heat was too much!

A nice lady next to us took our picture!

Cafe St. Germain has excellent wines and a varied menu with several vegetarian selections.  Paul did the “filet of lamb” which was outstanding.  Sue did the cauliflower soup and half a sandwich!

We loved the decor and we were able to tell Jason, the waiter, about the fact this building was a Rexall Drug Store and a Chinese restaurant once upon a time.  It’s good being old!

They have interesting wines and also beers!  We are going to have to get Hans and Kerstin down here one of these days!

We went home via the cleaners to pick up our formal wear for tomorrow.  We freshened up and then went to Katella Deli to order two cakes for the upcoming birthdays!  We then decided to go to Old Ranch for a short Happy Hour before heading south!  Re wan into Miguel and had a good visit with him!

On our way to the Phoenix Club the sun was setting.  We could see it in the rear-view mirror so since traffic was light and the car has warning sounds should you change lanes, Paul snapped this picture of the sun going down over Palos Verdes while going 70 miles per hour in the opposite direction!  The sky was interesting!

Connor joined us this evening and that was great!  We got a chance to talk a bit and share.  He is growing up!  He and Marianne had a talk!

While at the bar, Paul got tapped on the shoulder and who was it?  Frank!  Luisa’s dad!  We invited him to join us and visit.  We had a good time!  It was a nice surprise.  Frank and Greg chatted for a while!

We danced until about 10:30 before heading for home!  We crashed as we have another full day ahead of us!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
