We visited the garden and went picking. This morning was squash and green beans plus some radishes. We went to the chiropractor around 10:00 and then headed back to the house to do chores and treadmill!
Paul worked with all of the tomatoes as they are growing so fast they attempt to leave their cages! We put the little varmints back in jail! The onions are coming along quite well. We pulled the remaining back-yard radishes and put in more carrots.
The onion plant has a fan of hollow, bluish-green leaves and the bulb at the base of the plant begins to swell when a certain day-length is reached. In the autumn the foliage dies down and the outer layers of the bulb become dry and brittle. The crop is harvested and dried and the onions are ready for use or storage.
We watched an old Goldie Hawn movie and Sue made Deviled Eggs for a snack before we headed to the Phoenix Club to dance the evening away.
