Chores And Gardening

God made rainy days so gardeners could get the housework done. ~Author Unknown

We pretty much stayed at home after doing some errands early in the day.

First things first, we went to pick up Flower and bring her home to be with the rest of the babies.  That was difficult for us but she is with us now. We miss that baby so very much!  It’s difficult to be without a dog since we have had one for the last 20+ years!

We then headed for Cerritos Performing Arts Center and placed our $7,000 order for this seasons tickets!  We have a gaggle of folks joining us this year!  Yeah!

When we got home Paul picked apples, carrots, squash, and blueberries.  We had a late breakfast before doing some serious cooking. We made apple sauce, roasted the squash and carrots, cooked the string beans that we had picked yesterday, and Sue did some other magic tricks in the kitchen.  See the garden grow.

After all that work we headed to the Boathouse for a cocktail before going home and crashing.  The “June Gloom: was busy so no nice sunset!  We watched “Auntie Mame”… Great movie!

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
