Fact: We got the keys to our new home one year ago today!
One year ago today, my real estate agent met us at the front door and said, “these are the keys to the rest of your life.” Since then, I’ve been busy turning the house into a home, and I think we’ve done a pretty good job.
We use the pool whenever we can. It takes about 24 hours to raise the pool temperature from ambient to 85°. We had it on for Mother’s Day Sunday and left it on for friends to visit with us on Monday. Dumb old me left it on after that because this morning it was over 90°. Time to swim!
We’re going to spend some time comparing shots from the day we moved in to now, but just as an example, here is a view from the hallway looking towards the kitchen before and after.
I forgot to turn on the lights or use a flash camera!
This is a view from the front door looking through the living room/TV room, family room, and patio.
After a year, it is home!
The backyard now has flowers and vegetables everywhere.
Late in the afternoon, we were doing some gardening when I heard Mary yell, “help!” I ran into the house, and Mary had fallen in the bathroom while changing clothes. She banged up her knee pretty badly, so she spent the rest of the afternoon horizontal watching TV.
We canceled our gym appointment because of the accident.
She was doing much better by later in the evening.
We stayed up until 10:00 PM watching Tom Selleck movies!
