You think that was funny, well, it was not. I have fallen over several times and am considering going commando to avoid getting black and blue spots all over.
We had our morning coffee and planned out the day!
Last night, only one of my brilliant ideas survived past sundown. From now on, I’ll stick to creating memes instead of desserts!
We went to the pier about a week ago and bought some replacement whirlygigs, as the UV from the Sun had done a job on the originals. They lasted almost three years. This time, I plan to spray them every six months with our UV protection spray and see what happens.
Below is Scout making his way around his yard, looking for elephants.
We could not have a true yard without a tribute to the grape!
We headed to the garden with cutters in hand!
Our cucumber plant must have mistaken itself for a never-ending cucumber factory! It’s like it’s on a mission to cover the entire yard in cucumbers. I’m starting to suspect it’s secretly plotting to take over the world with its green, crunchy army!
Kale is also going strong, but I see kale chips in the near future. Mary has the chip-making down to a science. Kale is a nutrition superstar due to its high amounts of vitamins A, B6, C, K, folate, fiber, carotenoids, and manganese. One cup of raw kale has just 20 calories.
We were amazed that our vineyard, being only two years old, produced so many grapes! Perhaps it is because of the runoff from the garden? We have bunches of table grapes available now.
The red flame grapes are going crazy. We do have to keep the vines trimmed, but they want to grow, and we want the energy put into making grapes instead.
The zucchinis are also growing wild again. These two were for dinner tonight, as Mary had too much “stuffing” for our bell peppers. I wandered out into the garden about 5:00 p.m. and invited them to come inside.
The potting bench is better organized than it appears. The tarp covers it when it is not in use.
In my next life, I want to be a Scout! The baby is the true ruler of the household, with beds strategically placed all over the place. He watches his humans work tirelessly to ensure his comfort and serve him his favorite meal. It’s a tough job being a baby, but someone’s got to do it! He is 94 in dog years!
I drove Mary to the hospital at 11:30 am so she could feed David. Dianne had some errands that needed to be done. I dropped off Mary and rushed home to embark on a Pierogi treasure hunt in our freezer. It was like a Pierogi jackpot – I found four packages we had bought yesterday and then stumbled upon another four hidden in the deep freezer. Looks like we’re all set for a Pierogi feast!
I missed Mary, so I returned to the hospital at 1:15 p.m., and we stayed until 3:30 p.m. and visited.
On the way home, Mary decided to stuff the peppers that I “accidentally” put into the basket. The colored peppers are from Ralph’s, while the green babies are from our garden—picked today!
I cleaned them up and then nuked them to soften the skin.
Mary worked magic making the stuffing. I was busy prepping the peppers, so I have yet to get any pictures of the process she goes through to make such a creation. The aroma wafted throughout the house, and Scout, The Wonder Dog, went wild!
Stuffed and coated with cheese, they were ready for the last step: the oven at 350 degrees.
We had too much stuffing, so I suggested we use a crookneck squash and a zucchini! I went to the garden and invited three of our little friends inside. I slit them down the center and scooped out the seeds. After eight minutes in the microwave, they were ready for stuffing.
We watched Seal Team on our small TV at the end of the counter, keeping an eye on the goodies in the oven!
Wow! We had an amazing dinner. We each had a pepper, and it was so good that we split the crookneck squash. We took one over to Jeff, along with a tookie from yesterday!
We had a cookie and a glass of milk for dessert!
We got a text from Vicky, and she has a man in the house full-time! Clark Gable decided to move in with Vicky! Clark is a full-sized wax figure from the Movieland Wax Museum, which closed several years back.
Did You Know? The Movieland Wax Museum was the largest wax museum in the United States, with over 300 wax figures in 150 sets. Located in Buena Park, California, it was one of the most famous wax museums in the United States for decades. It was located north of Knott’s Berry Farm on Beach Boulevard.
On August 19, 2002, the museum’s founder, Allen Parkinson, died from natural causes at 83 years old in his Rhode Island home. On October 31, 2005, after forty-three years in business and 10 million visitors, Movieland closed. The reason for its closure was declining visitors and revenue.
Dianne came by after she visited with David, and we yakked for an hour or so! She and Mary have been friends for over thirty years; she is like a sister!
We hit the sack around 10:00 p.m. so we can be ready for the physical abuse that will come tomorrow morning at the gym!
