Work Work Work Work Work!

Some people say the glass is half full. Some people say the glass is half empty. Engineers say the glass is twice as big as necessary.

What can I say?  It’s Saturday, and we worked until 4:00 PM and then went dancing; we are gluttons for punishment.

Our plumber returned early and continued repairing the leaky toilet, which turned out to be a bad plumbing job during the remodel thirty years ago.

The bathroom blows up!

Robin came to join in on the “fun” and continue the visit with Colleen.  They are fast friends, or as Colleen says, “She is my bonus sister!”  We were all supposed to go to the OC FAir but alas, the plumber decided it was a full days work and Mary had to go to the rental and finished off some work.

We went the “kids” to the Fair and we worked.  Joe, Charlie, and Alex met the girls at the fair.  We made out well, we got out flagpole!  At 25-footer which we will due to display our flag and the US Army flag.  NO doubt her about our leanings!

Robin comes to save the day!

We made a lot of progress today, but around 3:00 PM, it was time to slow down, have a small glass of vino, and discuss the strategy for tomorrow.

“I am too pooped to pop!”

Joe and Carri showed up because I mentioned to Joe we needed to move the spa about twelve inches toward the wall.   Well, we had a good laugh while attempting to move the 2,200 pounds EMPTY spa to a new location.  After many attempts, we finally tied the ropes and come-along to the tree and got the spa moved about fourteen inches.

Time to move the spa!

Success, Robin, and Joe discuss the project!

“We did it!!”

Joe mentioned how strong he was, but we did not know as we were upwind from him!  He did demonstrate as each of these weights was close to three pounds! We heard strange noises terminating from his back and the groaning sounds scared Scout The WOnder Dog half to death!  Iy was kind of like rice crispies cereal with the “snap, crackle, and pop!”

I am superman!

We sent out for dinner and had another glass of vino.  Mary said she was cold and went into the house, returning with a fur coat.  We had a good laugh at her expense.  I remember the comment that she looked like Granny in the Beverly Hillbillies with shorts in a fur coat!

Time to rest!!

We had a successful day, and it again emphasizes the fact we love family!  We are blessed.

About Paul

Just an old retired guy trying to finish out my last years on this planet. I lost my best friend and wife in early 2020. I was blessed again by reconnecting with Dr. Mary Côté, a long-time friend. Mary and I got married July 28th, 2021, and are enjoying life together and plan to spend the rest of our lives being a blessing to our friends and family.
