BIG Moving Day! 2200 Pounds Of Hot Tub!

My wife and I always compromise. I admit I’m wrong, and she agrees with me.

We were up and ready to go early as today is another big day on our three-month move schedule.  The 2,200 pounds swim spa gets moved down the hill to our new place this afternoon.

But first, we needed breakfast, and I took my new wife to the finest place *open) this morning, iHop!

We walked from the Paséa Hotel & Spa to Main Street Huntington Beach, a two-block walk.  It was a good exercise. Located in Huntington Beach, Paséa Hotel & Spa is connected to a shopping center. Huntington Beach Pier.

It was the first time we had been in the shopping mall between the hotel and Main Street,

We had a pretty good meal at iHop and then walked back.  It was a tad on the foggy side, but that was expected this time of year, and we knew it was going to be in the 90s later on today!

The Paséa Hotel & Spa on PCH.

Another good idea popped into our heads; why not go to Roger’s Gardens for a quick walk and perhaps find some veggies? So, we did!

The Sunflowers were beautiful!

I had to have a closeup!  According to Helen Keller, “Keep your face to the sunshine, and you cannot see the shadow. It’s what sunflowers do.”

Beautiful!

It’s  Thursday, and you all know what that means, “Girl’s Night Out.”  We went VFR to the Santa Ana Elks Lodge, where we met with the regulars, and we brought a surprise; Colleen joined us.  We all laughed and giggled for ninety minutes, then we had to head out because the crane was due at MAry’s at 2:30 PM.

We arrived home and soon after got a call from the crane folks, so off we went.  Mary stayed at home as she had things do it and directed the handyman who is assisting us.

“That there is a big piece of equipment!”

Reaching for the Moon!

It was dizzying to look all the way up!

Here it goes on the first leg of the journey!

Up up and away!

It looked easy; we were not nervous at all… NOT!

The people in the tub had a great view!

Hanging by a thin wire 89 feet above Mary’s old home!

It was safely attached to a trailer for its 1.1-mile ride to its new home!

Well tied down, we hope!

The real scary part is a mere 130-foot reach with 2,500 pounds of potential skylight maker from the front yard to the back yard!

Test run! Can he make it??

No, the crane did NOT bend… It’s a pano-shot; click it!

Oh, dear…Is the crane going to make it?

It came down right on target with six inches to spare!

CAREFUL GUYS!!!

Three-point landing ahead!

Colleen and Bob took a lot of shots!

Down in one piece, wow!

We put a bag of ice underneath the spa so we could “roll” it… When the ice melts, it sits down on the concrete.

We all celebrated with a glass of wine!

We crashed this evening at 9:06 PM.  Another big day tomorrow!
