We Dood It!

Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love, and got married. The ceremony wasn’t much, but the reception was excellent.

You may have guessed it, Mary and I tied the knot today!  One year to the day of our first “date.”  We decided to do the ceremony at Patty’s Place in Seal Beach, where we had our first “date.”  I use quotes because it was not a date. It was a get-together of two old friends to exchange the latest gossip and cheer each other up from our losses.  Well, it was a whirlwind after that!

One year later, we have “our dream home,” we are hitched, and we are dearly enjoying life together as man and wife!

Just entering Patty’s Place.

We decided to stay in Huntington Beach on our wedding night mostly because we were celebrating and it was close by.  Colleen and Robin drove us to the hotel, Pasea, after the ceremony, and the next morning we had our car.

We were on the 4th floor overlooking the beach.

Great view!

Mary rested for a bit, and we enjoyed a glass of wine before changing and getting ready to go to the restaurant.

We enjoyed a couple of hours of sharing about this past year!

Then magic occurred.  I heard a bang, whirl, giggling, and I swear I saw little bluebirds and a tiny faerie on a broom come into the room.  Poof, the transformation occurred.  I thought it impossible but she got beautifuller!  In the back of my head, I am sure I heard the words from Cinderella!

It was magic! There she was, ready to go!  I did not have a large pumpkin to take her away to Patty’s, so I did the next best thing, the Silver Fox became our chariot!

I love the headdress!

We got to Patty’s about 5:00 PM, well ahead of everyone so we could take some pictures and the Bobs could get ready to seat the folks!

A fashion statement!

We had thirty family members and very close friends.  I only took about six pictures, but our photographer took loads which we will post shortly.

Mary sits with her daughter, Becky, and her fiance, Dan. The most wonderful thing was all of our friends and family changed seating and visited all evening.  I was blessed to have Diane, Pat, and Lisa come down and join in the festivities.  My kids were all here; Joe, Colleen, Michele, and of course Robin.  I had grandchildren here and Lilly, my first great-grandchild!  Ed, Vicky, Irene, Greg… It was an evening of memories and happiness!

We sat with Dianne and David.

The ceremony was short and directed by Donna, an ordained minister.  It was short and sweet.  Then came dinner, and Patty’s did great! We departed there about 9:30 PM, I think?

Our drivers took us to the hotel and booted us out.  Being left on our own, we went to the lobby and shared a glass or two of champagne with two middle-aged ladies before heading upstairs.

Once we got upstairs, and it being our wedding night, I locked myself in the bathroom.

The veranda was quite nice, and we captured the night.  By 10:30 PM we were crashed, lots of activities tomorrow!

PCH at 4 AM!

Tomorrow we move the swim spa, yeah!
