Never On Sunday? No, Always On Sunday!

“When we lose someone we love, we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they left behind.” – Anonymous

We had/have great friends who made life so enjoyable. It’s Donna’s birthday today, and she is up in Santa Barbara celebrating.  It Sue was here, we would likely be together somewhere!

Below was Donna’s birthday a few years back, and she and Sue were going through old High School Annuals (they graduated one year apart) attempting to remember people and teachers.  We had so much fun together.  While the girls went through the annuals, Bob and I would try to remember where we put our drinks.

Having Sue and our friends made life so enjoyable.  There was always something going on and plans being made for the next event.  Thank you, Sue, for being you and making life in this crazy world so enjoyable.  I love you, and always will!!!

If Sue were here, we would be celebrating Donna’s 70th birthday!  Donna found Sue’s picture in her 1969 annual!

Paperwork sucks!  All morning was spent going through the forms needed to apply for office and get on the November 3rd ballot.  Finally, at 11:00 AM, victory was declared, and the whole mess was sent to my friend in the registrar’s office for her to review Monday morning.  If all goes well, the only remaining task will be to get a Notary Public to sign off some things and submit the forms.  Yeah!

Carri came over to do some shopping in the garden, and she filled up bags with figs, tomatoes (several different kinds), potatoes, squash, and green beans. After Carri departed, the garden was calling me for attention.  I stayed until a huge gigantic bug was discovered!

Even though I am going out to dinner this evening, I decided a burger, sans buns, would be OK, so into the iron skillet, the goodies went.  Based on Google, there are about 280 calories in the pan because the vegetable oil was accounted for!  Loads of protein and few calories, yeah!

Fresh onions and tomatoes from the garden! Yummy!

After lunch, the garden was calling with a gentle reminder that, “Hey dummy, we need attention out here!  We are dying in all this heat!”

Time to get cleaned up as I had a dinner engagement with Mary at her home at 5:00 PM.  Mary, Sue, and I have been friends for many years, having met through dancing.   She fixed a wonderful dinner, and we dined on her patio with Mr. Scout, her amazing dog.  We both miss dancing a lot!  After dinner, we watched “Sleepless In Seattle” and while it brought back a lot of memories, they were good memories.  It was a lovely evening, and we shared it with Jan M., who called right before dinner.

After getting home, I crashed and planned tomorrow, beginning with the phone call to the registrar to make sure all the paperwork was correct.

Good night all!
